TEETH IN A DAY

Get a Spectacular New Smile in Just One Day

When you're missing most or all of your natural teeth, everyday activities like eating can be a real struggle. Over time, your missing teeth can even deteriorate your jawbone. This leads to jaw weakness and can even alter your facial structure.

Traditional dentures can help, but nothing beats the stability of implants for replacement teeth. Maybe you've thought about getting dental implants, but the cost of replacing up to thirty-two teeth kept them out of your reach. Or maybe you were worried about how much time it would take. These are valid concerns for patients to have.

Wouldn't it be amazing if you could replace all of your missing teeth with fewer implants? We think so! But at SmileOn Dentistry, we love to go above and beyond, so let's take it a step further. Wouldn't it be
incredible if you could replace all of your missing teeth, with fewer implants, in just one day?

It
is possible. And when you call us, you can get this first-class service right here in Centreville, VA.

Permanent Replacement Teeth in Just One Day at SmileOn Dentistry in Centreville, VA 20121

Now you know that it is possible. But what exactly is "it"?

They're called All-on-4® implants, and they're a revolutionary treatment in dentistry. Nobel Biocare developed the All-on-4® procedure nearly two decades ago. Since then, they've successfully given over 250,000 patients brand-new smiles with All-on-4® implants.

What's the Difference Between All-on-4® Implants and Traditional Implants?

Both traditional implants and All-on-4® implants are surgical procedures done to replace missing teeth. They are both done with local anesthesia, so you can be awake during the procedure. And they both result in replacement teeth that look just like natural teeth.

With traditional implants, you need one surgical site (and implant post) for every tooth you replace. The surgeon will place the implant deep into your gums where it can stimulate the bone, which is important for jawbone health and appearance. And once the implant has healed, your dentist attaches a crown to it that fits in with the rest of your teeth to give you a complete smile.

The big difference with All-on-4® implants is explained in the name:  all of your replacement teeth can be held on just four implants. That means fewer surgical incisions, fewer implants, and a lower cost for you!

How Exactly Does All-on-4® Work?

Traditional dental implants are placed vertically, which limits how many replacement teeth they can handle. In some cases, like with implant bridges, you could have three to four new teeth attached to only two implants. But that's not really helpful for people missing most or all of their natural teeth.

All-on-4® implants can secure your entire upper or lower set of teeth with as little as four implants. How? The secret is how they're placed during the surgery. Two of the implants are put in vertically, like traditional dental implants, and the other two are placed diagonally.

Thanks to the laws of physics (and rigorous clinical testing), Nobel Biocare's specially designed implants can bear an entire arch of teeth.

Can You Really Get Permanent Teeth in a Day?

Yes! Here's how it works:

  • Our dentist will take x-rays and other scans of your whole mouth to ensure you're a good candidate for the All-on-4® procedure.
  • On the day of your surgery, you'll be given a local anesthetic to keep you comfortable and pain free.
  • If needed, our surgeon will extract any existing teeth first on the same day as your implant procedure.
  • Our surgeon will make the necessary incisions into your gums and place the patented Nobel Biocare implants.
  • Then we will attach a temporary set of teeth to the implants, which will look, feel, and function like your natural teeth.

It sounds simple because it is! And you can start using your new teeth as soon as your procedure is finished. Voila—new teeth in a day!

You'll keep the temporary replacement teeth for anywhere from three to six months while your gums heal. This will also give your bone adequate time to start healing and growing around the implants, which is important for their stability and your bone health. Once everything is completely healed, you will get your permanent replacement teeth.

How Long Do All-on-4® Implants Last?

With proper oral hygiene and routine dental checkups, your new teeth can last a whole lifetime. And what's even better is that Nobel Biocare offers a lifetime warranty for their implants—so if anything ever does happen and you need a replacement, your beautiful new smile is covered by the manufacturer.

Benefits of All-on-4® Implants vs Traditional Implants

Is there any reason you should choose All-on-4® over traditional implants? Yes!

Both types of implants have fantastic benefits to patients who need a permanent solution for missing teeth. However, if you are missing most or all of your natural teeth, the All-on-4® teeth in a day procedure is the preferred solution for several reasons.

All-on-4® Implants

  • Between four and six implants
  • Lower cost
  • Completed in one day
  • Lifetime guarantee

Traditional Implants

  • One implant per tooth
  • Higher cost
  • May need multiple appointments
  • May need bone graft first

At your first appointment, our dentist will thoroughly examine your teeth and gums and let you know which solution is best for your specific needs.

Difference Between Our Teeth in a Day Service and Traditional Dentures

If you've been missing your natural teeth for a while, you may be getting by with dentures. These can be a great solution, but there are a few important differences you should know to make an informed decision.

First, traditional dentures are removable. This can be helpful for keeping them clean, but it leads to several problems for which you'll need to be prepared. One problem is that dentures may slip out during physical activity, especially if they are an older pair. You can usually fix this problem with denture adhesives, but many patients dislike the taste.

With our teeth in a day service, your new teeth will be permanent. They will look, feel, and function just like your natural teeth, and they can only be removed by a qualified dentist. Many patients love this feature because it means they don't have to worry about the embarrassment of their dentures falling out or the hassle of applying denture adhesives.

Second, traditional dentures do not stimulate your jawbone. Over time, your bone mass will deteriorate, which can alter the shape of your face. With our implants, your jawbone will get the proper stimulation every time you eat. This will keep your bones healthy and retain your face shape as you get older.

Third, traditional dentures are not guaranteed for life. On average, patients need to get a new set of dentures every five to seven years. That may not seem like a disadvantage at first glance; but you never know what will happen in the future.

But with proper oral hygiene, our teeth in a day can last a lifetime. That means you only have to pay for one set of new teeth, get all steps of the procedure done in the same day, and you have a truly permanent fix
